Mumtaz has the charm of an old textile discovered and loved over time. Hand-drawn checks are framed by leafy sprigs and little flowers, bringing softness to its orderly grid. Rooted in the language of vintage patchwork, it feels familiar yet full of personality—a gentle play between structure, pattern and the imperfect hand.
Our wallpapers are printed using the traditional art of surface printing, a technique first developed in 1838 to recreate the character and beauty of hand block printing. Nearly two centuries later, our papers are still printed on the original centuries-old machines, where layers of water-based colors are applied to the paper through engraved relief rollers.
